[justify]a large area in the middle of town where many important buildings as well as a few garden and parks are near. there's also a large fountain, and a statue of aria, the hero from way back when. they have money to burn here.[/justify]

[justify]the main area of the island where all the stores are. old businesses - almost all family-run and handed down over years - such as butchers, grocery stores, post office, and the like are here. it also has a slightly newer, family-run arcade and electronics store, though.[/justify]

[justify]an ancient building used for education of all the youths, crammed into one, three-story building. the connecting kindergarden building lies right beside it. school open hours are from eight to seven, so if you're in school around closing times, get your butt out or spend the night.[/justify]

[justify]the area of the island where most of the housing is, and therefore most people reside. most houses are rather large - damn those rich mercadians. (sign up here for a house for your character)[/justify]

[justify]the mercadian docks where tourists, mainlanders and mercadians can travel back and forth between the mainland and the island. the far side of the docks are also used for trade ships.[/justify]

a small open beach far enough away from the docks to give the location peace and quiet. this is the more public and popular beach for all the citizens of the island due to the beach down at the cove being off-limits.

[justify]three automated trains run in an infinite and timed loop around the island, going between the city-esque area, the farmland, and the cliffs by the sea, the latter being on the other side of the island.[/justify]

[justify]a small, sturdy brick building that the same police force of mercadia works out of. also inside are the holding cells.[/justify]

[justify]here is where most of the non-fishy foods come from - mercadia's own fertile, rich lands. there isn't as much, as one would expect, but the few farms there are are decent-sized, and provide enough to feed the island with a little help from the fishermen.[/justify]

a small expanse of open fields near the cliffs of the cove. though once used as farmland, the area hasn't been used as such for a good long five generations. however, the distant family house and surrounding land have been recently converted into an area for the popular young sport of paintballing. it has proven popular with both mercadian youth and tourists from the mainland.

[justify]the large area of the shore below the cliffs at the other end of the island, the council has determined it offlimits due to the fast-rising tide and instability of the rocks. however, it's rumoured the multiple grottos below is an old pirates' hideaway. whatever the case, teen parties are thrown often - and in secret.[/justify]

the mainland docks where tourists, mainlanders and mercadians can travel back and forth between the mainland and the island. the far side of the docks are also used for trade ships.

the city closest to mercadia is large in size and has one of the grandest squares in europe. with a large statue of an three winged angel statue and fountain in the center of the square as well as many birds - mainly pidgeons of course, many tourists can be found photographing the place.

though it isn't the lowry or the louvre, the kingsly art and history museum still has its own beauties and is a hotspot for... geeks, artists and the occasional family who have nothing else to do.

a large shopping center with state of the art arcades, stores with the latest fashions, fancy and fast food restaurants and etc. owned by a rather rich businessman, the mall is forever growing in size.

though this is in fact an over eighteen nightclub it can be quite easy for teenagers to get in and out of here with a fake ID or a distracted doorman. but don't expect to trick the barman so easily. he has a good eye for brats.

the largest housing complex in the city, though not always the best maintained. the complex is made up of three large buildings, all the same age, but surprisingly, the building on the far right is quite run down. blame the building manager?
